Longing for Autumn

I grew up in the South, but come September, I fit better up North. I’m longing to pull out a couple of light jackets and gear up for the cold. Here in Dallas, we’re months away from that, if it happens at all.

To me, Autumn is the most romantic season and we find ourselves, in Texas, turning the air down so we can start wearing sweaters, drinking hot cholcolate and cuddling through movies.

Life is seasonal and people who live in a climate where they experience all four seasons seem to embrace the seasonality of life so much better than those of us who enjoy a couple of extremes separated by most of the same from year to year.

As much as I love Dallas and calling myself a Texan, I think this will be our last year here. The Northwest was such a better fit for what feels right to us.
