The Big Bang Theory Interview with Bill Prady

A couple weeks ago, I read a girl’s post on Google+ about The Big Bang Theory. She had only recently given the show a couple views and she didn’t like it. She thinks The Big Bang Theory stereotypes geeks in a negative way.

I wanted to share this interview we did with Bill Prady, co-founder of The Big Bang Theory, but back when we shot it, there wasn’t a place we could have uploaded the uncut HD video. It was too long and the file was too big. It was just wasting away on the Drobo Pro under my desk.

YouTube is the World’s video archive and now allows HD file uploads over 15-minutes, so I decided I’d upload it. I spent the weekend re-cutting it to get rid of the monotony of the single camera shot, but other than visual edits, this is the full 19-minute GeekBrief.TV interview of Bill Prady.

It’s a cool conversation about the difference between geeks and nerds and how the geek community has a natural acceptance of each other’s idiosyncrasies. If you feel like an outcast who doesn’t grok how other people relate to each other, this conversation might encourage you.

  1. Neal, thanks for posting this on Youtube. Always interseting to hear some more of the background to such a genuinely good series.

Based on the claimed origin of the word Geek, does the term “Animal Loving Geek” therefore fall into the same category of titles as “Trustworthy Politician” or the often quoted “Military Intelligence”? ;-)
